JULIE D. FISHER
Julie graduated from UVIC Law in 1995, was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1996, and appeared since then as legal counsel at all levels of court in British Columbia, in the Federal Court of Canada, and at the Supreme Court of Canada with lead counsel on vicarious liability of charitable organizations (see. Jacobi v. Griffiths,  2. S.C.R. 570).
Julie practices in the areas of general civil litigation, estate litigation, long term disability benefit claims, CPP disability appeals, insurance claims and coverage issues, construction disputes, defective construction, commercial disputes, subrogation and recovery actions, defence claims, personal injury claims, nuisance claims, product liability, debt collection, privacy breach, business or contract claims.
Julie is a problem solver. She focuses on client service and results. Cost effectiveness, reliable legal opinions, accurate budgets, professional manner, and results consistent with recommendations are key components of her strategy for helping clients achieve their objectives and resolve their disputes. Julie enjoys practicing law, educating the public on legal rights, helping people and companies resolve their litigation issues and disputes, and volunteering time to help the community and her profession.
Julie currently volunteers as a Trustee for the Coquitlam Public Library since 2017, with Tri-City Chamber of Commerce since 2018, and currently with Access Pro Bono, Lawyer Referral and Legal Clinic (previously CBA Lawyers Referral Help Desk since 1999).
